What's the message being sent Forgiveness or Foolish?

After three weeks from the alleged facial blows to Rihanna, People Magazine reports the two are reunited. It's said that P Diddy arranged or allowed for Chris Brown and Rihanna to make use of his Star island Mansion home in Miami this weekend where Chris Brown was spotted Jet skiing and enjoying himself.
Chris Brown has not been formerly charged but will be arraigned this Thursday but if Rihanna will not be cooperating or pressing charges it's hardly likely the R&B Hip Hop star Brown will be spending time behind bars but between the sheets.
Is this a teenage love hangover? What's the message being sent?

I think the message is forgiveness. While I'm totally opposed to the violence towards women (kids and all morally upstanding human beings in general) Chris Brown is a young man who made a mistake and if he is genuinely sorry and willing to take corrective steps why shouldn't he be forgive.
Photos of Rihanna post-incident coupled by the notes from the arraignment hearing show that Chris Brown punched and bit her repeatedly. This seems to be a conscious act of violence that is hard to swallow as a mistake. He needs professional help to deal with his potential anger management issues. Until then, Rihanna should forgive... and keep her distance.
They have now broken up. Seems like he may be dating someone else. He plead not-guilty, but the evidence is overwhelming. Hopefully he doesn't gloss over this episode and become just another stereotype.
