Bolts thunders down Track

>> Monday, May 5, 2008

KINGSTON, Jamaica.
Usain Bolt ran the second fastest 100m ever recorded in 9.76 seconds only bettered by fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell.

Now I am sure the world were all expecting a big show down from Bolt in the 200m at the Bejing Olympics but with this blistering of run it must have cut marks into the Powell / Tyson Gay battle. He surely must now be comtemplating to have a say in the 100m in China.

Well, let's see if Bolt will tighten his screws on the 100m and bring some more unexpected results, lets say, a World record performance.

No pressure on the young lad who currently holds the world junior record at the 200m but he got a promising future ahead.

After days of searching for my blog it has been returned. I am happy to see my blog has returned to its owner. It was quite discomforting wondering if my blog was ok, wherever it went. I could sense it was all alone.

I have checked my blog and recognize there are no external wounds present but it is a little malnourished and hungry so I have to take care of my blog now.

Thanks for the support to the many who gave kind words and encouragement during these challenging time.

Kidnap Resort

Oh man, I am tired of being an educated professional going to my 24/7 job paying taxes, thinking about tomorrows meals, where the next dollar is gonna come from. I am just fed up.

Sometimes I think "kidnappees" are better off than me. Yeah, when I look at the kidnappee, They are being fed by their kidnappers, they don't have to pay tax, they get three meals a day, shower twice a day, TV interviews like a celebrity.

Now that's the life! Each day someone doesn't find the ransom I bet they are like "Yes!". Oh man, I'll go waking on the streets in Basra if i could, "Take me, Take me! I want to be taken". I'll get my American citizenship to raise the stakes.

All this time I have been talking about wanting to get get away from the world to a nice hideout and it's right there available. Free of cost, excursions from the trunk of the car, adventure beyond words description.

Oh man if I got kidnapped it would be a party up in this house.

Giants knock off Patriots

>> Monday, February 4, 2008

The New York Giants yesterday won Superbowl XLII upsetting the seasons unbeaten favorites the new England Patriots. Tim Brady's team which looked like an offensive powerhouse machinery during the season were stopped short by the brilliant defense of Tom Coughlin Giants.
The match did come down to a NY apparent last drive (in my opinion at the time) third & 5 when Giants quarterback (Eli Mannings) made a very desperate throw after wiggling his way out patriots defensive trouble (where was that elusive sack) to scramble a throw some 32 yards down the line to his team mate Tyree. From their they made it to the in zone to score a touch down leaving the Patriots with only a few seconds to attempt any scoring to take the lead. It was not to be however.

Congrats to the Giants. This is was case we see where the underdogs can not get unmotivated because of they are called underdogs.

Good work Giants. Begin your parades down Battery Park and walk Broadway with smiles and pride.

The wolf fight

>> Monday, January 7, 2008

One evening, a very wise man was speaking with his grandson about life, about the internal battle that goes on inside all people.

He said, "my son, inside all of us there exists a constant battle between two wolves. One wolf is very evil. It forces you to deal with anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and a self centered, destructive ego.

The other wolf is good. It helps you to experience joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, faith, self-respect, and to develope a giving, constructive ego."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "which wolf wins?"

The wise man replied, "my son the one you feed. "

The sport of Racism

I have never seen so much physical blows, attacks & defense moves, as in the sport of Racism. Back then the playing court had two prominent halves with the ball being lobbed back and forth over the net. Today it appears the net has been torn down the court transformed into a circle with the ball being hit in almost every angle. Just place any "non-white" in the ring among other persons and you await the bell of cynicism. However, for some strange reason, the world around me have immuned those with white colored skin to being victims of racism but that's another blog entry.

Prevalent today in the world of sports we find racist remarks, taunts striving; When good old playing the sport fairy doesn't work lets try and hit someone below the belt and disturbed their performance.

Recently the Indian cricket board banned their team member Harbhajan for alleged racist remarks at the only none white of the aussie cricket team Symmonds.
What I can't understand in the case is how two races popular for receiving racist remarks at themselves {or two persons arguable describe of certain ethic group}, are spun in a web of throwing remarks at each other. The whole debate is over the usage of a word "monkey".

I don't know if this is a case for lack of understanding cultures as I once read somewhere of the Hindu Monkey god (For eg. PIG usage: Person cutting in traffic /Taken: I'm fat) or a case of using the wrong word at the wrong time (switched from dog, to pig then ended at monkey oops too late. Can't take it back) , or just another round in the racism ring.

Whatever it is, when will we get pass this issue of Racism.

Women stuck in Elevator for two days

>> Friday, January 4, 2008

Most often than I want, I have to remind my wife to keep her cell phone close to her. You may never know when that important call is coming in, but better yet, you may never know when you NEED to get that important call going out. Here an article found on CNN which reminds me keep your cell phone charged and in close proximity.

NILES, Illinois (AP) -- Two cleaning women, trapped inside a broken elevator for two days, survived on two cough drops and six aspirin until they were rescued.

Beata Bartoszewicz and her mother, Roma Borowski, entered an elevator in an empty building in this Chicago suburb on December 22. After the elevator doors closed, the women discovered they were stuck on the first floor of the two-story building.

There was no response from an emergency call alarm and the women couldn't pry open the doors, Bartoszewicz said.

Neither had a cell phone or water and the building wasn't due to open until after Christmas.

The duo became dizzy from hunger. "I was close to thinking I was going to die," Bartoszewicz said.

The women tried to sleep on their coats and used a corner of the elevator as a bathroom.

Bartoszewicz said her mother continually reassured her.

"She kept saying, `We're going to be OK, and we're going to spend Christmas Eve at home,"' the 25-year-old said.

Two days later, on Christmas Eve, an employee of the building happened to go to work. Borowski said she heard him talking on his cell phone. The women yelled for his attention and he heard them.

Fire crews freed the women an hour later.

Bartoszewicz said the moral of the story is simple: "Always take your cell phone with you."
