Giants knock off Patriots
>> Monday, February 4, 2008
The New York Giants yesterday won Superbowl XLII upsetting the seasons unbeaten favorites the new England Patriots. Tim Brady's team which looked like an offensive powerhouse machinery during the season were stopped short by the brilliant defense of Tom Coughlin Giants.
The match did come down to a NY apparent last drive (in my opinion at the time) third & 5 when Giants quarterback (Eli Mannings) made a very desperate throw after wiggling his way out patriots defensive trouble (where was that elusive sack) to scramble a throw some 32 yards down the line to his team mate Tyree. From their they made it to the in zone to score a touch down leaving the Patriots with only a few seconds to attempt any scoring to take the lead. It was not to be however.
Congrats to the Giants. This is was case we see where the underdogs can not get unmotivated because of they are called underdogs.
Good work Giants. Begin your parades down Battery Park and walk Broadway with smiles and pride.
