Gladly convicted—No defense from the devil?

Why is it, when misfortunes occur in some person’s lives, when trials are encountered, when pain is inflicted or just when his/her expectation is not met then we hear “Is Satan yuh nuh! The Devil strong”. From the simple walking & falling on the ground, to the “orchestrated scheme” of rain on a wife’s wedding day, that old devil is blamed. If Satan is innocent, if I may put those two words in the same sentence, then imagine the many false accusations made at Satan as he smiles on the witness stand. But who really would believe Satan, and who would think of coming to his defense? After all look at the man’s reputation:
A liar, a murderer, The Father of lies (John 8:44),
our enemy (Matt 13:39),
the thief (John 10:10),
the tempter (Matt 4:3),
the Evil or wicked one (Eph 6:16, Jn 5:18)
are a few descriptive names that gives insight into his character.
It’s not a far-fetched idea to blame him for every “bad” thing that happens to us. But sometimes in this blame, many remove themselves from being agents of their demise. Remember the devil tempts us but we are also drawn by our lust & enticed (James 1:14). In every misfortune, I would rather give call to God’s name and give him thanks and stop giving the devil recognition. More people need to hear about God. When things challenge me I wanna say rather (God good yuh know! Thank you it’s not worse, I’m alive.) I need to look at making best of the situation and how can I get over this now and be stronger. The next time something not in your liking happens, think about it; look at the evidence before pointing the finger, because three more are pointing back at you.
